Inland Spain offers a yoga retreat with a difference where you can really experience the Spanish lifestyle, walk in the hills, visit the whitewashed Andalucian mountain villages or explore places of historical interest. Or you can head down to the coast and sit on one of the beautiful beaches near Nerja!

SPIRIT OF YOGA specialises in Yoga Teacher Training programs, however, we also offer selected dates for Yoga Retreats. These are available most months of the year in Spain. Individual Yoga Therapy classes are available most months.

Yoga Teacher Training Courses

The venue for the Yoga Retreats is the YOGASHALA, a lovely cottage style property with gardens and stunning views over the valley to the Tejada mountain range views. It is only a five minute walk form the whitewashed village of Iznate where shops, pharmacy and cafes are available.
The Yogashala is situated in a quiet position, within very easy reach of the village.

Course Teachers

Spirit of Yoga has the blessings of  Rishikesh Yoga Teacher,  Yoga Acarya Yogendra Mishra.
Manorama (Maggie) has been his student for over fifteen years and currently teaches yoga in Spain and India. She is the founder and director of Spirit of Yoga Classical Yoga Institute in Malaga, Spain. Manorama has a wealth of knowledge about India and its traditions, and offers educational and spiritual retreats and pilgrimages to the lesser known holy places.

There will also be experienced assistant teachers, who will share their knowledge and experience with you. All assistant teachers have all been trained with Manorama at Spirit of Yoga, and other recognised Yoga Institutes.

Courses Offered

We offer 200hrs YTTC, 100hrs Yoga Therapy , 200hrs Advanced Level in Spain. ALL our courses are certified with the Yoga Alliance International.

In India we offer 100hrs Yoga Therapy and 200hrs Advanced level TTCs / Ayurveda Retreats/Courses close to the River Ganges. Some Yoga retreats will take place in a traditional ashram environment.200hrs intensive programs certified with Yoga Alliance International.

A 100hrs TTC Advanced Level Plus. The program will take place over four months with 12 Sessions starting from 26th May 2024. Anyone wishing to take the course in two parts of six consecutive days, please enquire.

It will be a personal restorative/relaxing YOGA RETREAT, designed to give you the tools to create your own home practice, and to journey further into your self, learning how to integrate the yoga practices into your daily life. ONLINE BHAKTI YOGA STUDY

STUDY of Bhagavad-GIta through the ancient art of story telling. We will cover all eighteen chapters of Bhagavad-Gita. You will learn how to chant and memorise various important verses from the Gita. Gain insight into the deep teachings and wisdom of this ancient knowledge.

Self paced over a certain period of time. Up to nine sessions. COST: 250 euros single person/300euros couple.

*NEW! FIVE DAY Certificate Workshop in FURTHER YOGA STUDIES 2024.
Starts in June and July. There is a three and a five day refresher course for yoga teachers, offering the opportunity to deepen your own personal practice and to gain further knowledge……. practical, philosophical and physiological, in order to make you a more experienced yoga teacher.

The course will be a celebration of Yoga and the theme will be “asanajaya” as spoken about in the yoga sutras. The subjects covered will be as follows:

*How to deepen your personal practice through asana classes and interactive classes. The theme of Asanajaya.

*How to balance every day life with meditation.

*Learn new easy to practice, but profound, pranayama techniques from the Vashista line of Yoga.

*New theory subjects, discussing in depth certain themes in Yoga, such as “What it is to be a Teacher”, and the five types of teacher with their Sanskrit names and meaning. “What is really meant by Dharma”, “Brmhana and Langhana” and other subjects.

ADVANCED LEVEL TTC 200hrs INDIA

2023/2024

This program will consist of two weeks training in India, followed by five days home study and projects, and a five day immersion on one of our 200hr trainings, where you will have the opportunity to observe and teach. The program is open to yoga teachers with 300hrs previous training in a compatible line of yoga. There will be an online meeting before registering for the course.
